Whether manual sorting or handling in distribution and logistics centres or for parcel service providers: the compact VICAM Snap! automatic identification system captures and processes barcodes and 2D codes significantly faster than laser scanners.
Thanks to the extremely high reading performance of the VICAM Snap! multi-code reading system, operators can move goods (e.g. small items, containers or large letters) under the matrix camera with both hands and at high speeds. The large reading area (310 mm x 260 mm x 300 mm) enables intuitive and fast handling of goods. Thanks to the large reading area, the VICAM Snap! automatic identification system is able to capture even damaged, poorly contrasted or poorly printed codes on a wide variety of surfaces, including under protective film. Even the smallest codes as well as adjacent codes are captured.
The efficient automatic identification system enables faster manual sorting and maximum productivity. Identification is carried out continuously, fully automatically and without manual activation. The automatic identification system installed above the workstation reads all common barcodes and 2D codes (including colour codes on coloured backgrounds, etc.) while the packages are being passed under the camera. It displays images in real time and automatically archives all captured information.
The VICAM Snap! system features a configurable connection to a database. This allows data to be collated reliably and fully automatically. An integrated speaker makes operation extremely easy, providing configurable instructions to operators and acoustic signals during the capture of the shipment. Thanks to the high reading rate, the need for repeated reading attempts is eliminated.
