Non-machine readable or incompletely identified addresses are sent via a fast network to videocoding workstations. An image, or part of an image containing the label, is sent to a videocoding workstation. Here, trained personnel can rotate or zoom the image and enter the data, either online or offline.
Online videocoding means that the data is added immediately and the item is ready for sorting. With offline videocoding, the data is added at a later stage.
